Harvesting of your woodlot does not have to be a once-in-a-lifetime event.  Our forest resource is a renewable one.  Proper forest management techniques allow a woodlot to be maintained in a sustainable fashion that can be harvested every five to fifteen years.

Forestry Services We Offer At No Cost To You:
  • Short-term and long-term management planning for timber, wildlife, water, investment, and recreational objectives.
  • Road location and construction
  • Forest inventory, data analysis and appraisal
  • Deed research and boundary line identification
  • Timber marking
  • Development of multiple yield scenarios
  • Complete harvest supervision
  • Competitive prices for your trees

We take our reputation for honesty and integrity very seriously.  Our goal with every timber harvest is to offer a fair price, to use trained professionals to complete the work with utmost care, and for the landowner to be pleased with the appearance of their property when the harvest has been completed.

We utilize a Purchase Contract that is specifically selected for its easy-to-understand, plain English language.  We are prepared to explain every paragraph before we ask for a signature.

We gladly provide a list of landowners whose woodlots have been harvested by Cornerstone.

If you are interested in a potential harvest and give us a call or contact us through this website, and your property is within 75 miles of our mill, here is what will happen:

1.  Woodlot walk by our forester.

2.  Initial meeting with you to identify your objectives for the property, to show you a portfolio of other harvests, and to give you a copy of the contract to read.

3.  Survey of the property by our forester to develop a formal timber assessment.

4.  Second meeting to present a written appraisal, property map, and dollar value to you of trees to be harvested.  At this point we will ask for a signature on the contract and make a down payment.

5.  We will file needed soil conservation permits.

6.  Payment in full is made and harvest occurs.  Our forester will visit the job site regularly to assure that work is progressing as required.

7.  Grading and seeding concludes the harvest.

8.  A final walk through with the forester.

Remember, how your trees are cut from the woodlot will determine which species will grow after the harvest, and whether the resulting vegetation meets your criteria for using and enjoying your woods.  Call us today to discuss how we can help you achieve your goals for your property!
